Jean-Pierre Norblin de la Gourdaine was a French artist & engraver who became a leading figure of the Enlightment in Poland.
After befriending Prince Adam Czartoryski early in his career, he traveled with him for two years and was later invited to Poland, where Norblin found success as a court artist completing commissions for prominent families.
His work is distinguished by its blend of Rococo "fetes galantes" and vivid depictions of everyday life across social classes.
